Headache

Headaches are very common following a car accident. During the accident, the head and neck can be violently thrown back, forward, or to the side causing tearing in the tendon, ligament, and fascia fibers in the neck which in turn can be the source of headaches. Patients typically feel headache pain in the back of the head forward to the area behind the eyes and up toward the temples.

Headache pain will usually subside with treatment. Treatment includes hot and cold packs, acupressure (medical massage) therapy, acupuncture stimulation, and herbal care. Medication may help but usually serves only to cover up symptoms and may not address the source of the headache pain.
